Fees

  • Our standard nursery day is from 8am to 5pm.
  • We operate an Evening Club from 5pm to 6pm, Monday to Thursday, which is charged separately. Please note there is no Evening Club on a Friday, and the nursery is closed from 5pm.
  • We are open for 48 weeks of the year. Please see Dates under the About Us menu of the website for further details.
  • We offer a mixture of 5 day, 4 day and 3 day a week places. Therefore, a minimum of 3 days are required.
  • Once you accept a nursery place, we require a deposit of £100 within 3 working days to secure the place. This will be returned when you leave Wood St Nursery as long as you are not in arrears or breach of contract. If you are accessing a fully funded place we do not take a deposit.
  • The nursery will be closed for bank holidays, and also for 2 days a year to cover part of our staff training commitment. Normal fees apply for those days.
  • Evening Club is closed for up to two Tuesdays and two Thursdays each year to facilitate a whole staff team meeting. Fees for these sessions are not refunded.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for holidays and sickness as we still have to pay our staff. This also applies to food, as we do not buy individual portions.
  • If the nursery closes due to unforeseen circumstances for three days or less, normal fees will apply. If the closure extends beyond these days, the additional day’s closure will be refunded.
  • Fees at Wood St Nursery are payable monthly. Monthly fees are annualised. This means that the cost for 48 weeks of the year is divided into 12 equal monthly payments. Therefore, you will pay the same each month, regardless of how many days your child is at nursery in any given month.
  • Fees are payable monthly in advance by bank transfer
  • A minimum of one month’s notice must be given when leaving the nursery. Please give notice on or before the 1st of the month to leave at the end of a month. If you leave at a time other than September for transfer to Reception, then you will be liable for fees accrued during months that have no holidays, which are normally paid back during months with holidays in them. This is because your fees are annualised, and you are paying the same amount each month, and not paying for the exact days taken in each month.
  • If you are eligible, you can use the following government schemes to help with the cost of childcare at Wood St Nursery:
    • Tax Free Childcare
    • Universal Credit
    • Tax Credits
    • Help while you study
    • Free education and childcare for 2 year olds
    • 15 hours free childcare for 3 to 4 year olds
    • 30 hours free childcare for 3 to 4 year olds
  • We do not accept cash payments.
  • Invoices are sent out on the 1st of the month and must be paid within 12 days. Receipts are sent out on the next working day after the 12th day of the month.
  • Fees are reconciled on the next working day after the 12th, and again on the last day of the month. This is when your account is updated. Payments are therefore not registered on the same day that you make them, and will not show up in your account until the 12th or the 29th/30th/31st, whichever is soonest after the payment is made.
  • If fees are not paid by mid-day on the last day of the month, 10% will be automatically added to your outstanding bill.
  • Fees include all meals, drinks, snacks, nappies and wipes.
  • Fees do not include Forest School for Oaks children, there is an additional charge for this. Families can opt out of Forest School.
  • Fees will increase every year in April at least in line with inflation.
  • In the event of an increase in fees, in April or at any other time, we will give a minimum of 1 month’s notice.
  • Standard day rate for up to 2 years is £9.85 ph. Evening Club is £11.55 ph.
  • Standard day rate for over 2 years is £8.64 ph. Evening Club is £10.33 ph.
  • The rate changes on the 1st of the month after a child’s second birthday.
  • Forest school surcharge is £12.70 a session. This cost covers Forest School Lead, additional staffing, and food. Oak’s children can attend Forest School once they have been on some trips with Oaks and are felt to be ready by their key person. This will generally take a month or two after joining Oaks.
  • Please see the fees table below for a full breakdown of fees.
  • Additional sessions (half day or full day) can be booked if available. An admin fee of £2 is added for every ad hoc session booked.
  • We do not swop ad hoc sessions for regular sessions, they can only be booked in addition to your usual days. We do not make up sessions missed due to illness or holidays.

WOOD ST NURSERY FEES

Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE)

The following detailed information is required by the LEA as part of our contractual agreement to provide FEEE places (more commonly known as 15 hours and 30 hours funded places).

Some 2 year olds are entitled to free early education (FEEE) from the term after they are 2. This entitlement equates to 15 hrs per week spread over 38 weeks (570 hrs per annum). These hours are provided free of charge. Full details of this scheme can be found below.

Further details of the eligibility criteria, and to apply for your eligibility code, please visit: www.walthamforest.gov.uk/freechildcare

All 3 years old are entitled to 570 hours of free early education per annum from the term after they turn 3. This can either be taken as 15hrs per week over 38 weeks, when taken during school term time; or if you are also buying in extra hours, then 11 hours and 50 minutes per week, spread over 48 weeks per annum. We offer both options at this nursery, please see full details below. These hours are provided free of charge, but you will be charged and invoiced for any hours or services that you wish to purchase that are above the free entitlement.

NOTE: parents/carers who wish to take up their FEEE hours only do not incur any monthly payable fees, unless you wish to purchase additional childcare hours.

You may be entitled to the extended entitlement for working families. This can either be taken 30 hrs per week spread over 38 weeks, when taken during school term time, or 23 hours and 45 minutes per week when spread over 48 weeks per annum. We offer both options at this nursery. These hours are provided free of charge. You will be charged/invoiced for any hours or services that you wish to purchase that are above the free entitlement.

You will need to obtain your code for this extended entitlement before your extended FEEE can be offered by the nursery. Use the following link to check your eligibility and find out more information.
