Fees

Wood St Nursery fees

At Wood St Nursery, our fees are structured to reflect the different rooms and age groups we care for—Willows, Chestnuts, and Oaks.

In addition to our standard fees, there are additional charges for services like Evening Club, Forest School, and also a consumable fee for any funded hours. These are outlined in detail below. We aim to provide a transparent and fair pricing structure to ensure you understand exactly what your child’s care includes.

Please note that our fees are annualised for 48 weeks of care, spread evenly over 12 monthly payments. This allows for consistent payments throughout the year, regardless of the number of days in a particular month. This means, for example, that you will pay the same in August which has a two week holiday as you will for any other month.

Please see the detailed breakdown of our fees below.

Consumable Fee at Wood St Nursery

At Wood St Nursery, free hours funded by the government (such as the 15 or 30 hours free childcare for eligible children) do not include meals, drinks, snacks, wipes, trips, celebrations, special events or additional tuition. As a result, a consumable fee will apply to cover these.

What Does the Consumable Charge Cover?

  • Meals and Snacks: nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. And a variety of drinks, including water and milk.
  • Nappies, Wipes, and Toiletries: essential items for children, such as nappies, nappy cream and wipes, sun cream.
  • Trips, celebrations and special events: such as to local shop, garden centre, parent breakfast and tea, Christmas celebrations, Black History Month, graduation.

Evening Club at Wood St Nursery

Our Evening Club runs from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, offering a peaceful and enjoyable environment for children after the standard nursery hours. This service is charged as a monthly fee rather than on a daily or weekly basis.

The fee for Evening Club varies depending on your child’s age, so please check the Wood St Nursery fees above to confirm the correct fee based on your child’s age group.

Children must attend the same sessions each week. If you would like to add or change a day, we require notice to make adjustments to your child’s schedule.

The Evening Club provides a relaxed atmosphere with opportunities for creative play, quiet activities, and more time to bond with friends and staff. It’s perfect for parents who need a little extra flexibility at the end of the day.

Fees Breakdown

For a detailed breakdown of our fees, including hourly rates, Evening Club, and Forest School charges, please refer to the Wood St Nursery Fees tables.

Refund Policy & Payments

No Refunds for Sickness or Holidays: Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for holidays or sickness, as staff must still be paid, and we do not buy individual portions of food. Unforeseen Closures: If the nursery closes due to unforeseen circumstances for 5 days or less, normal fees will apply. For closures beyond this, the additional days will be refunded.

Forest School & Additional Charges

Forest School: For Oaks children, there is an additional charge for Forest School. This cost covers the Forest School Lead, additional staffing, and food. Families can opt out of Forest School if they wish. Forest School generally begins the term after joining Oaks, once children have attended trips and their key person feels they are ready.

Fee Increases

Fees are reviewed annually and may increase each April at least in line with inflation or the National Minimum Wage. We will give a minimum of 1 month’s notice for any fee increases.
